About BMF Belegcheck
BMF Belegcheck is the official app for businesses subject to Austria's cash register obligation under §131b BAO. It enables companies to verify the authenticity and compliance of cash register receipts by checking their machine-readable security codes against the Federal Ministry of Finance's verification service.
The app streamlines receipt validation through multiple input methods. Scan QR codes directly from receipts using the built-in scanner, enter receipt links where QR codes aren't printed, or manually input machine-readable codes. Each submission is transmitted to the BMF's inspection service for real-time verification against your registered cash register data held in FinanzOnline.
Work seamlessly even without an internet connection. The offline evidence feature automatically caches any machine-readable codes that cannot be transmitted immediately. You retain full control—review or delete individual cached documents as needed, then submit them once connectivity is restored.
Keep a complete audit trail within the app. All documents successfully sent to the BMF inspection service are saved alongside their verification results. This creates an organized record of checked receipts and their compliance status, essential for regulatory documentation and internal audits.
Verification requires an authentication code issued after you register your cash register and create your digital signature or seal unit through FinanzOnline. The BMF inspection service compares your submitted machine-readable codes against the official data recorded in FinanzOnline, applying §16 RKSV standards. Verification results display instantly on your device, confirming whether each receipt meets legal requirements.
Designed exclusively for business compliance, this app is not available for private consumer use. Whether you operate a single register or manage multiple locations, BMF Belegcheck ensures your cash register compliance can be verified quickly and documented reliably.
Download BMF Belegcheck today to simplify your receipt verification process and maintain transparent records with Austria's Federal Ministry of Finance.
